Travel ratings LABS PROTOTYPE

A Discover view for new places: when you browse a town where you and your friends haven't rated anything, shops show a community average — one average per shop across every Beaned Up user — so you can spot the good places in a town where nobody you know has been. All towns, shops and ratings on this page are fictional.

AGGREGATES ONLY — NEVER A NAME OR A SINGLE COFFEE AVERAGE APPEARS ONLY AT 3+ RATINGS HOME-MADE COFFEES NEVER COUNT
  1. Kestrel Falls — the travel case: you know nobody there, community averages carry the page.
  2. Bramblewood — home turf: your friends' ratings come first, community fills in below.
  3. Pinehollow — the sparse early-days case: only one shop has earned an average.

How the community average works

Every rating a shop gets from any Beaned Up user is added together and divided by the number of ratings. That is the only number ever shown — ★ average plus how many ratings — with no names and no individual coffees. An average appears only once a shop reaches 3 ratings; before that the shop is listed with no average at all. And a coffee made at home has no shop, so it never counts toward any average.

Beaned Up Labs prototype — every town, shop and rating here is fictional, baked into this page. Nothing is connected to the real app or any real account.
